Melbourne Compute Network Issues

Resolved

We've now resolved the incident

Zettagrid engineers discovered an issue with the interconnect ports on a core switch within our Melbourne zone. These ports were dropping random frames, resulting in a possible loss of traffic between customer VMs and access to the Zettagrid customer management portal.

The switch was isolated from the rest of the network and then rebooted, which resolved the issue. The Zettagrid network team has had discussions with the switch vendor, and the root cause has only been partially determined. The Zettagrid network team will perform further maintenance on the Melbourne network infrastructure to ensure this sort of issue isn't possible in the future.
