Service Disruption impacting NBN and Ethernet Services in WA

Resolved
  • This outage was a result of an approved BAU change to add a new AGG port for a new service provider.
  • The addition of this new VLAN caused MC-LAG Interface connecting some Metro Ethernet and NBN services to our Perth network to go down and not forward packets to our redundant equipment.
  • Once identified manual intervention was required to restore services.
  • A case has been raised with the network hardware vendor and engineers are investigating alternative uplink architecture to workaround the vendor constraints.
